Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund Endorses California Environmental Leaders for June Primary

OAKLAND, Calif.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, today announced its endorsements of environmental and climate champions for California’s June 2 primary.

The slate of candidates includes national, state and local leaders who will stand up to polluters and fight for clean air and water for California’s communities, wildlife and ecosystems.

“California is suffering devastating wildfires, floods and droughts fed by fossil fuel-driven climate change, but we’re lucky to have these courageous candidates who are eager to guide our state to a clean, renewable energy future,” said Karuna Jaggar, California political director at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “We need to elect bold leaders at every level of government who will help protect people, wildlife and the planet and make oil and gas billionaires pay for the damage they inflict on us all.”

The full slate of climate champions endorsed by the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund can be found on the website. It includes:

Early voting starts May 5 in California, where the state’s top-two primary system means that many races are effectively decided in the June 2 primary. California voters will help determine which party controls the U.S. House of Representatives, who will lead the world’s fourth-largest economy, and key seats in important local elections.

The Center Action Fund is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for legislation and legislators that will advance a progressive environmental agenda.
